Even Dictators Have Committee Meetings

Friday, March 07, 2003

I serve on a few committees. I even chair one of them. Committees, to my mind, are usually giant wastes of time intended to create paper for regulators. I am amused this morning to find out that Iraq has committees running its weapons programs, according to the report by El Baradei this morning. It's good to know that the virtues of consensus decision-making appear even in fascist regimes.
