Look But Don't Touch

Saturday, February 01, 2003

Microsoft continues its efforts to keep Open Source Software (OSS) from taking hold in major government bodies. The bad news: you can look but you can't touch. If the consumer finds a bug they can't modify it and release it back in the wild as with OSS. The good news: if NATO, the UK and/or Russia find bugs in Microsoft's software, I have this sneaking suspicion it will be given a much higher priority than if you or I did.
